Elizaveta Butakova is currently undertaking doctoral research at the Courtauld Institute of Art on the history of the Russian unofficial art magazine A-Ya and its international network of contributors in the period 1979–1986, focusing on the connections between Paris, Moscow and New York. She is interested in the connections between art and literature as printed media.
